Impressively renovated for family living
Owners Notes
What we love about this home:
We moved from the country to this home nearly 20 years ago. Over the years we have renovated the home to adjust to our changing family and personal needs, the last renovation being 5 years ago.
The garden is an important part of our home. The native bushes and trees we have planted attract a wide variety of native birds which we often sit and watch feeding and playing. The trees in the back yard are particularly beautiful. With our renovations over the years we can now see different parts of the garden from every room. Our grandchildren love playing in the garden and on the deck area.
Despite this being an older home it is very energy efficient with solar panels, grey water recycling from the laundry, full insulation, and the bi-fold doors to the patio are double glazed. The house is north-facing and east-west aligned so light floods into the living areas and bedrooms in winter, spring & autumn.
What we love about this suburb:
Eaglemont is a quiet leafy suburb. The trees lining the streets provide a peaceful feel despite being so close to the city. We walk and cycle to the Yarra River parklands, and cultural and sporting facilities. Heidelberg and Eaglemont stations are a 10 minute walk and a 25 minute train ride to the CBD. There are an ever increasing number of wonderful restaurants nearby. Our grandchildren love Albert Jones Park at the end of the street.
Why we are selling:
This home is comfortable and in a lovely location, but we need to move to a smaller place on a single level. As is the case for many people who have owned a home for 20 years our needs have changed and we now want to pass this home on to people who will care for and enjoy it as we have.
