Owners Notes

333 Station Street has been in the Kelly/Moxon family for over 80 years. The Kelly clan (Grandpa Kelly and his seven offspring) resided at the house throughout the 1930’s and 40’s until they all moved on to start their own lives. Lorraine married Jim in the 1940’s and they bought the house for 1,000 pounds, they saved their pennies and spent another 1,000 pounds renovating the rear of the house, new kitchen, bathroom and laundry. This was the perfect spot to settle down and have a family. 333 Station Street became the heart of the Moxon Clan for the next 65 years. Lorraine and Jim had five children between 1950 and 1959. Everything is within walking distance, Lady Gowry Kindergarten, Lee Street Primary School and nearby High schools. Carlton Baths also got a pounding during the summer months. Saturdays were the big draw card to 333 Station Street when the kids returned home for some home-made soup before venturing off to see Carlton play football at Princes Park.

There were always snap dragons in the front garden (when in season) and orchids in pots in the rear yard. The house was immaculate and always kept clean, it was full of love and laughter with family, friends and neighbours dropping in for coffee and a chat and the odd game of cards. The back half of the house was covered with family photos and Collingwood FC memorabilia (Lorraine was an avid Collingwood supporter and one or two VFL/AFL footballers have called in to say hello over the years). Lorraine was the Matriarch of Station Street and the surrounding neighbourhood  and neighbours would often stop for a chat at the front gate.

The times have changed significantly over the past 85 years, however 333 Station Street will always be a house that is full of many happy family memories. Hope the memories continue to grow.
