Reimagined Victorian in the Heart of Fitzroy North Village

In the heart of Fitzroy North Village, this classic Victorian has been reimagined balancing its rich heritage with a fresh, modern sensibility. What was once a traditional terrace has been expanded into a light-filled, generously sized family home, proving that period style and contemporary living can effortlessly coexist.

Over two levels the ground floor features a wider than usual open plan living, dining and well-equipped kitchen, plus a bathroom with separate spa bath and a large formal living room or fourth bedroom with its own entry. Thoughtfully planned the classic kitchen includes quality appliances including a fully integrated dishwasher, stone benchtops and ample storage. Upstairs there are three spacious bedrooms, two with built in robes including the main with access to a deck with city views, plus a central bathroom. Outside there is a low maintenance private courtyard and remote off-street parking accessed via the rear right of way.

Added features include heating and cooling throughout, storage, European laundry, and shed.

Just steps from the front door there are local cafes, shops, bars and eateries, trams, schools, bike paths and Edinburgh Gardens.

Owners Notes

We've spent a wonderful 13 years calling 33 Egremont Street home and making the most of the incredible community that is the Fitzroy North Village.

While our home is quietly tucked away in a one-way street, so much life waits on our doorstep.
From iconic local pubs to a wholefood grocery store, and more cafes than you can point a latte at - it truly has everything.

With the lush Edinburgh gardens and welcoming Bargoonga Library just around the corner, and Melbourne's quirkiest supermarket Piedemontes over the road, there's no shortage of ways to spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon. There's a very special atmosphere about the village that is famously vibrant and friendly, and we've loved being a part of it.

Trams on Nicholson or Brunswick Street mean the city is never far away, and Rushall train station has made commuting to work so easy.

The house itself has seen our family grow and proved the perfect base for us and our children.
Most recently, we've used the front lounge downstairs as a master bedroom, creating a separate space for the children upstairs. But over the years as kids have grown up and moved in and out, the flexible floorplan has allowed the living space to evolve with us.

There's a lightness to the space thanks to the many doors and windows, which we've often enjoyed leaving open to the breeze. The back roller door would often be rolled up on a balmy evening to let the world in while we BBQ or catch up with the neighbours.

A highlight for us is the upstairs deck. You really feel on top of the world sitting there at sunset, taking in the city views.
We recently updated the kitchen and laundry and are sad to leave them behind! The renovation has proved functional as well as beautiful, and being open to the living space has made family dinners feel very organic and easy.
We've loved making this special place our home and the lifestyle it provided, and have no doubt that the next owners will too.
