We have lived in Pascoe Vale South for 25 years, 15 of those at 20 Disraeli Grove. Before number 20 became our home, we often walked past it, captivated by its 1930s design that perfectly captures the essence of the interwar period. We never imagined it would come up for sale, so we were ecstatic when it became ours in 2009.

From the moment we walked in, we knew it was a well-loved home, its features wonderfully preserved by its two previous families. The front entry, with its terrazzo floor, decorative wrought iron door, and clinker bricks, along with the magnificent art deco ceiling features and hand-rendered plaster, exuded charm. The house even offered the potential to create a studio, making Disraeli Grove full of both character and opportunity.

To bring our 1930s home up to date while maintaining its original character, we opened it up to embrace the beautiful northern light. Many enjoyable hours have been spent in the living area, with the bi-fold doors open, overlooking our garden with its citrus and blood plum trees.

We have loved living here. Not only has it been our dream home, but deciding to leave has been a difficult decision. However, as we begin our new life on the Bellarine Peninsula, we hope the new residents of Disraeli Grove will enjoy it as much as we have.

The neighbourhood is friendly, close to Shore Reserve, and convenient for the evolving café scene along Melville Road, which includes local favourites like Miinot Gelato, and nearby Emil’s on Reynard Street. The nearby tram provides an easy journey into the city. Pascoe Vale South offers the best of both worlds: the quietness of a village atmosphere yet close to the vibrant energy of Sydney Road and Brunswick.
