Edwardian elegance meets contemporary class

A testament to the craftsmanship of a century ago, embellished with the luxuries of today, this delightful Edwardian home is a beautiful blend of two eras. Beyond a gabled façade and wrap-around verandah, the voluminous interior flaunts its youth with a stunning display of 11-foot pressed metal ceilings, timber fretwork, matte Baltic floorboards, and elegant, cast-iron fireplaces.

Showered in light, the formal dining room hosts vibrant dinner parties beside an open fireplace, while posing exceptional versatility as a home office or games room. The family room nurtures relaxation and meals beside a border of floor-to-ceiling windows, catered to by a Smeg and Bosch kitchen with plenty of contemporary storage.

A sensational indoor-outdoor haven for the entertainer, the glamorous interior stretches onto a north-facing deck for alfresco celebrations, hemmed by easy-care gardens and a handy storage shed.

Both bedrooms enjoy the lavish dimensions and enchanting style of its period, sharing a luxe twin-basin bathroom, providing a deep bath to relax at days’ end. Finished with a laundry, plus the comfort of ducted heating, the home affords a leisurely lifestyle at the city’s edge.

Situated among leading public and private schools, the home is mere footsteps from the Yarra River’s lush trails and recreation, Hawthorn station, and Burwood Road’s cafés and shopping, while an easy tram ride into Richmond’s restaurants and retailers, Melbourne’s vibrant sporting precinct, and the endless indulgences of the CBD.

I found Sage, as Cameron Ingram's assistant, to be courteous and efficient at all times with a "nothing is too much trouble" attitude. Always punctual and clearly enjoys her work - it was reassuring to have someone like Sage around in this stressful time.

My initial criteria of an agent was for a good auctioneer and Cameron was recommended by a buyer's advocate I knew. However Cameron provided much more - comprehensive attendance day reports, practical renovation advice, astute interpretation of the market and just plain common sense. Also selling a property is stressful - to the vendors, purchasers and, to the tenants who have been asked to vacate. Cameron was genuinely courteous and professional to all - it was a pleasure to work with him
