Owners Notes
I grew up in a house like this with cathedral ceilings, lots of light and strong connections to nature so when 19 White Avenue popped up on the market it was love at first sight. It has taken 17 years to peel back the layers and reveal the inner beauty of this house designed by renowned Australian architect Ken Woolley for Pettit and Sevitt.
Only 6.5 kms from the GPO, it's akin to living in the bush. Adjacent to a park, with treetop views from every room and the verandas, the house offers a sense of peace and serenity whilst living in a big city.
We raised our 3 kids here. Three separate living zones and 5 spacious double bedrooms allowed us to evolve as the kids grew and their needs changed. We are fortunate to have quiet streets, great local schools within walking distance and easily accessible bike tracks along the Yarra. It’s nestled in a local neighbourhood with a big heart, lots of kids and an annual park Christmas party.
It’s a short walk to the end of the street to catch a direct bus into the CBD and the Skybus terminal at Docklands.
Boccaccio’s IGA, voted the best delicatessen in Australia 3 years running, is a 5 minute drive away and did I mention its walking distance to Ora Café one of the best coffees in Melbourne?
We’ll be sad to leave this place but all the kids have flown the nest and it’s time to pass the baton.
