Owners Notes

We fell in love with 2 Charles Street just under 6 years ago. We remember walking into the quiet bluestone street, through the front hall into a light filled, elegant living room. Then upon walking up the stairs we were amazed by the bright warm upstairs master suite, and the amazing rooftop terrace. Standing on that sunny grassed terrace we knew we had to have this home.

2 Charles Street has truly been an amazing home for us and our daughter and we are very sad to be saying goodbye to both the beautiful house and the unbeatable location.

The location has been perfect, providing us with an amazing walkable lifestyle. Over the years this has included morning coffees at Florian in Carlton North (600m), Sunday afternoon movies at Cinema Nova (650m), meetups with friends and family at events at the Melbourne Museum and Royal Exhibition Building (1.2km). Relaxed lunches and dinners at our favourite neighbourhood pubs in Fitzroy and Fitzroy North: Marquis of Lorne (1.1km), Royal Oak Hotel (850m), Fitzroy Town Hall (980m). Wines, cocktails and dinners at Scopri (300m), Bar Bellamy (230m), Carlton Wine Room (650m) and Geralds Bar (900m).

We have also loved the proximity to the beautiful inner city parks including Carlton Gardens, Curtain Square, and Princess Park. We both work centrally and are able to easily walk to the city through Carlton Gardens to our workplaces (~2km), or catch a short tram or bus ride when needed.

The house itself has been a wonderful place to both entertain and just enjoy for ourselves. We have enjoyed barbecues in the outdoor courtyard, and wines on the upstairs terrace in the warmer months, and living room dinners by the warm fireplace in the cooler months. The kitchen, with a recently updated oven and range hood has been perfect for cooking, with the layout allowing you to cook and chat to people at the table, or just watch tv. The adaptable layout has also been great for different periods of our lives, with the extra large upstairs bedroom suite allowing us to work from home in a light filled space separated from the main living area.

The street itself has a wonderful community feel. The families living in the street range, from young couples and families, to people who have been living in the street for generations. Everyone is very friendly and always available to lend a helping hand when needed.

We have absolutely loved our time at 2 Charles Street and we will have the fondest memories of this home, street and area for the rest of our lives - we also hope to move back to the area in the future. All the best to the new owners - we hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
