Discover Coburg's best-kept secret...

In a serene Coburg neighbourhood moments from Merri Creek trails and acres of parkland, this Art Deco home delivers an idyllic family lifestyle with its expanded single-level design, long list of features and delightful outdoors to enjoy.

Beyond the gorgeous facade complete with secure brick portico, the home's impeccable interior showcases four spacious bedrooms (two with built-in robes) all complemented by three stylish bathrooms. Underlining its family flexibility is the inclusion of an elegant front lounge, formal dining room (potential home office or media room) and light-filled open living/meals area to the rear adjoined by a well-appointed kitchen complete with dishwasher and centrepiece Falcon oven. High Art Deco ceilings, original lead-light windows, stained timberwork and solid hardwood floors all add to the allure, along with gas heating, split-system a/c, solar power and solar/gas hot water, as well as internal laundry facilities (third bathroom) and attic storage via retractable ladder. Step outside to discover a wonderfully private backyard garden with entertaining deck, established fruit trees and direct access to Cole Crescent behind, plus the added advantage of front off-street parking.

Tram stop around the corner, it's also close to Joe's Market Garden, a range of schools and kinder/childcare facilities, as well as easy access to the buzz of Sydney Road, Coburg Station and the area's thriving retail precinct. Nelson Alexander Pty Ltd

Owners Notes

The original Art Deco (1935) period features. We have preserved all the original plaster ceilings, leadlight windows and hardwood timber doors. We extended the house to accommodate a growing family while remaining faithful to the character and warmth of this beautiful home.

We also love the elevated view from the back window that gives us a wonderful view of the Merri Creek. Walking into the house and seeing trees and sky. Sitting having a cuppa in the family room or on the rear deck provides a great view of clouds above and wind in the nearby gum trees along Merri Creek. It’s also a great spot to see rainbows!

We love the front garden, especially the Forest Pansy, fruit trees and salvias.

The street is quiet and yet close to the tram (there is a little laneway cut through across the road). The proximity to the creek means you are surrounded by nature on one side of the house and have ready access to public transport on the other.

Our neighbours are marvellous and we will miss them greatly, including those street parties at Christmas!

This part of Coburg is unique, given its proximity to the creek and the quiet streets. Joe’s Garden (CERES) and bike paths are just a short walk away. There is no through traffic. Beyond this little pocket, there are wonderful small independent businesses on Nicholson and Harding streets, and then Sydney Road and Pentridge village just a little further away. This part of Coburg also borders many other great inner northern suburbs.

Our children are all grown up and it’s time for another family to make 20 Beckley Street their home. We have lots of happy memories of our time living here.
