Owners Notes
It has been a magical 5 years at 20a Neptune Street. We found so much happiness in this home, particularly with its close proximity to everything ‘Richmond’, while having the perfect tucked away feel...
From basking on the front deck with a coffee as the sun rises over the gorgeous Heritage Paterson Warehouse, to the many dinner parties hosted on our back deck as the sun goes down, we have created so many incredible memories in this warm and light-filled home.
With easy access to the freeway, tram stops and train stations, our home quickly became a hub for family and friends, visiting from near and far. The middle level served as the perfect central meeting space; we loved gathering around the kitchen bench, wine in hand, as we cooked up a feast for our guests. Bound to hit the river whichever way we turned, we were spoiled with morning run and walk options. The abundance of local coffee options at our doorstep always excites us after our morning activities. The Richmond Community has greeted us with many friendly faces over the years, from café owners to our four-legged furry friends at the local parks.
One of our favourite ways to begin the weekend is a short stroll up to the infamous Gleadell St Market, where we select our weekly produce and a few baked goods. During footy season, most Saturday afternoons started with an early pub meal at The Spready, on to one of the many wine bars up Bridge Road, and then a short stroll to the 'G. When our team wasn't playing, we loved opening up the large sliding doors and hearing the roars and cheers from our bedroom. And when all the noise stopped and we were ordered to stay at home, we felt so grateful to be able to enjoy our spacious kitchen, cooking delicious meals and settling into a book in one of the sun-drenched corners of the home.
Neptune St is perfectly proportioned. The bedrooms are large enough to fit everything you need. We added a herb garden & turf out the back to create our own little green oasis, as well as black-out and sheer curtains for a warm touch to an already thoughtfully designed home. The centred stairwell creates a beautiful 'double' space of a separate living and dining, while still being able to have music and ambience flow between the two. The street is quiet, with the adjacent street (Corsair) being one way, we're not used as a thoroughfare for traffic, and sharing our street with a few local businesses means that after hours and on weekends, we have to remind ourselves we are in the middle of Richmond, it really is so quiet!
It is with a heavy heart that we are leaving the inner city life to start our next chapter in regional Victoria. We have loved getting to know the many friendly personalities of Neptune St Neighbours, and we are sure you will too.
