Curated luxury in Brunswick
Good design fosters connections and community within a quiet residential neighbourhood. Art, design and lifestyle converge.
This ideally positioned architect-designed Californian bungalow has been cleverly extended with the artistic touch of a local Melbourne Artist. The attention to detail throughout creates a stunning and immediately liveable family home. Generously proportioned, this family sized accommodation in the heart of Brunswick West is a must to see.
An exceptionally spacious 5m x 12m light-filled open plan north facing living area with a vaulted cathedral roof adjoins a well-appointed kitchen including Qasair range hood and butler's pantry with separate sink and fridge. Floating hardwood stairs lead to a large mezzanine study or large separate 4th bedroom, and easy access to a huge walk-in attic storage space of 100sqm.
This family home is brimming with functionality. Easy access from the street a side gate opens up to beautifully flowing brick paving that swirls seamlessly from the front garden along the side of the house past the workstation and bike storage area for kids bikes (with charging points for electric bikes) this leads into a English style mudroom created for a large family with access to an elegant wooden deck alongside a lush tropical garden into the leafy back yard, a haven from the inner city life.
Smart lighting features allow control of household lights from a central hub in the main hallway or from your device/phone. USB charging stations are hidden away inside drawers in the island bench, and the house's power supply is supplemented by a 6.27 kW north facing solar system which receives continuous light all year round.
A wide central hall accesses 3 large bedrooms, each with split system heating and cooling. This artistically-inspired home features a large walk in wardrobe with Florence Broadhurst wallpaper, leading through to the well appointed ensuite. Created by a Melbourne artist the home features beautifully hand-painted wallpapers from her own collection. Unique artistic touches, including bespoke stained glass windows created by local craftsman Wesley Vine adorn the house. Among the more unusual features are a magical hideaway cubby in the ceiling, and a secret door with a passageway between the kids' bedrooms.
This north west facing architecturally designed home is bathed in natural light, yet remains cool and airy in summer. The spacious living and dining zones with a gourmet kitchen optimizes inner city living. A family study nook links into the open plan area to create a harmonious family hub. Leading off the main living area is a separate closed off quiet library and music room with doors opening out to the paved terrace and entertaining areas, a tranquil landscape in the heart of Brunswick. A quiet residential street close to shops, Moonee ponds creek trails, a short walk to the local library and parklands including Jacob's reserve with the local Brunswick cubs brigade hub and toy library. Vibrant Sydney Rd, local Melville Rd eateries, local schools and trams (Brunswick Secondary College zone) are only moments away, and with easy access to CityLink it's a quick commute to the heart of the city. An ideal location. Moments to transport, parks, cafes, bars, eateries, schools and shops, An exquisite family home in a great family location.
Contemporary sophistication yet retaining a sense of its Californian bungalow roots. Impeccable indoor and outdoor entertaining and inner city lifestyle. A nod to its original heritage home with high decorative ceilings and ceiling roses with a modern renovation with artistic flair.
Art meets life, this home is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Owners Notes
Welcome to our home.
We absolutely adore Cadman street, and we hope you will too.
The beauty of Cadman St is that you get a small village feeling and the ability for the kids to walk around the neighborhood to the local parks and school. The street is so quiet without through traffic that the bygone days of kids biking and go-karting on the street is still here.
Cadman Street feels like the family heart of Brunswick West. It’s a quiet street with little through traffic. Our kids have grown up here playing on the streets running around endlessly and writing motivational messages for our friends and neighbors in chalk on the road during lockdown. The street has the community feel of a small village, with everyone looking out for each other. The kids can walk to nearby Jacob’s reserve park, containing both scout hall and toy library and walk on through the park to Brunswick North West primary school.
The home sits up high on the hill, with views across to Moreland Rd. It is light-filled in winter, and shady in summer.
Our home was created to be visually inspiring, and for functionality. The sunlight in the living area is fabulous all year round. In winter mornings, light shines in through the mezzanine windows and lights up the kitchen. During the day in winter, when the leaves have fallen from the Golden Robinia trees, sunlight streams through the lounge-room windows. In summer, trees are in full bloom and shade the house from direct sun and create a canopy of an endless garden.
We love Cadman Street and pass on this little gem in the middle of Brunswick to another lovely family.
