Light, space and a garden sanctuary
Owners Notes
What we love about this home:
We’ve lived and raised our family here for over 20 years. It has been a spacious and tranquil oasis, providing relief from the busy inner city. With established gardens all around, we love finding the right spot for the occasion. The west courtyard catches the sun in the afternoon, the front garden housed a treehouse when our family was younger, and we enjoy entertaining in the rear courtyard. The extension and renovation was completed in 2006, when local architect Terrance Nott designing our large light-filled living spaces with the fireplace providing cosy winter evenings. The convenience and security of covered off-street parking has been wonderful.
What we love about the location:
We’ve found this to be the perfect location for our busy family. We’re zoned for Princes Hill Primary and Secondary College, both of which are a short walk. The laneway to Park Street is just two doors away, which is a convenient shortcut to school, Linear Park playground and North Carlton Railway House which has made a memorable venue for family birthdays. Princess Park is just 650m away - one of the best spots in Melbourne for a family picnic, and Melbourne’s finest (in our opinion) off-leash dog park! Of course, we’re also perfectly positioned for cafés, bars and restaurants on Lygon Street, Sydney Road and Rathdowne Street. There are too many favourite bars and restaurants to name all of them, but shout out to Etta, Old Palm Liquor and Waxflower.
There are many public transport options with quick access into the city and surrounding areas by bus, train, tram, bike and foot. Even Victoria Market is a pleasant walk if you’re feeling energetic.
Why we are selling:
Our family has grown up, so time for us to move on.
