We are thrilled to announce that the Nelson Alexander Charitable Foundation's highly anticipated annual fundraiser, Foundation Day, is scheduled for Saturday, September 9th, 2023, and we are now accepting applications.

What is Foundation Day?

Foundation Day holds great significance for Nelson Alexander as it embodies our commitment to giving back to our local community. It is a day when each of our sixteen offices donates the professional fee from one of their auctions to support a community organisation or charity.

Our deep connection with the local communities is ingrained in our culture, and we proactively respond to the needs of worthy causes through the Nelson Alexander Charitable Foundation. Foundation Day exemplifies our foundation's focus on supporting youth, education, and alleviating disadvantage.

Since its establishment, the Nelson Alexander Charitable Foundation has raised and distributed over $4.3 million, an achievement we are proud to build upon each year.

Please find the pertinent information regarding the application process below:

Foundation Day Application Criteria: This year, on Foundation Day, we will aim to address the issue of Food Insecurity within our community and will exclusively consider applications from local community groups, not-for-profits and organisations working within our footprint to alleviate the community's need for access to wholesome and nutritious food.

Foundation Day Grants: Grants ranging from approximately $5,000 to $30,000 will be considered. The final donation amount will be confirmed after Foundation Day and will be influenced by location and market conditions on the day of the auctions.

Application Closing Date: The deadline for submitting applications is July 17th, 2023.

Please note that the committee is unable to consider requests for the following:

• Ongoing administration costs, including staff wages.
• Projects outside our geographical footprint or requiring recurring funding.
• Donations to general appeals, sponsorships, or other general funding foundations.
• Capital items are typically funded entirely through government sources.
• Merchandise, marketing, and catering expenses for events.
• Funding for operating events aimed at raising funds for a specific organisation or cause.
