Corporate Volunteering
Introducing corporate volunteering into your work place provides you with the opportunity to enhance your work engagement.
Have you as an individual wanted to become involved in your community by volunteering your time to a not for profit organisation but never had the impetus to move forward, as you struggle to manage your work-life balance.
Corporate volunteering has become increasingly popular within the Australian workplace in recent years and has proven benefits to both employees and the employer. Group volunteering is seen as a popular team building exercise allowing employees from across all sectors of a business the opportunity to work together with a sense of pride, benefiting the community in which they live or work.
Nelson Alexander established our Charitable Foundation in 2005 not only to provide financial support via our fundraising efforts but to also provide a platform for staff participation in community service. Each year our staff receives two paid annual leave days to volunteer with a community organisation either as an individual or a group. This has enabled us to establish long term relationships with a number of organisations including Fareshare where we prepare meals from excess food received from businesses and supermarkets; serving breakfast at St Mary’s House of Welcome in Fitzroy or doing what we do best providing auctioneering skills to raise funds for a variety of groups from those working with childhood cancers to our local schools and kindergartens.
Our award winning community service programme has been recognised by our industry with numerous state and national awards most recently at the national awards in March 2014 and the state awards in Oct 2014.
